The Pomodoro Technique.

Do you have something called "shiny object" syndrome?

For those of you that do not know what this devious little syndrome is, I'll tell you my version.

In life, do you find yourself always excited about every next thing? The next business plan? The next marketing plan? The next "make 30K in a week following these five simple steps?" How about the next sales funnel that promises you a trillion billion million followers converted at a 26.876% conversion rate/opt-in rate/pay per click..... wtf????

You get so wrapped up in all of these "shiny" new things that you forget to do what you love to do. You defer off the original path. You stop doing what you actually love to do.

The worst part is because everything is so damn "shiny" and in your face, YOU NEVER FINISH ANYTHING.

In business and in life this is a major problem.

Does this sound like you?

Don't you worry because I have a solution that helped me launch my business in less than 30 days, make a million dollars in profit in the first week and I had a million followers by the first month.....

NOT, I am joking.

In life, getting rich quick, crash dieting, writing a New York best seller in 5 days, having everything you want in a flash does NOT exist.

Nature is way to damn smart for this madness.

I mean think about this for a second. Do you think Mother Nature would ever allow you to plant an acorn in the ground, then the next day without watering it, catering to it, with no cultivation what so ever it grows into a 100 ft oak tree....... NOPE, not going to happen and if you figured out how to do this, then PM on facebook and ill give you some cookies. :)

Being true to who you are, being patient, working PERSISTENTLY toward your goals, riding the ups and the downs, learning from not just the wins, but from the failures as well. Cultivating your life!

These will all yield you the life of your dreams.

Examples may include:

  • Having an amazing marriage and partnership with your loved one
  • Creating the business of your dreams and taking it to limitless heights
  • Being the best mother or father this world has ever seen
  • Helping someone in need
  • Feeding the hungry
  • Educating the underprivileged
  • Saving not just one person life but many throughout the course of your life

If you are still reading this post your f**king awesome, but you already knew that.

I told you I had a very powerful technique for you to stay focused and get stuff done.

This is called the POMODORO Technique.

Do more with fewer distractions.

Here is how this works:

  1. Set a timer for 25 minutes (If you want to be true to the method, use a tomato shaped timer), and spend that time focusing on a single task that you have chosen before-hand, no matter what. The 25-minute chunk is called the Pomodoro.
  2. Once the timer rings, take a 5-minute break to relax, have a glass of water, you can move around a little.

After your break, you will be refreshed and ready for your next Pomodoro!

Using this technique helps you gain back control over your day and focus on your work.

This method is so powerful because the brain knows that it's only 25 minutes.... So working on that boring slide show is a breeze because its only 25 minutes and then you get a break! Duh! easy-peasy.

Remember that it takes two to three months to climb Mt. Everest. You cannot climb it in a day. There is the proper conditioning, altitude training, etc.

Have a goal and aim for ten Pomodoro's a day (total of 250 minutes or a little over 4 hours.)

This level of mono-focusing is amazing, and the results are incredible.

When I first was introduced to the Pomodoro Technique by the amazing Entrepreneur and leader; Laura Latimer (founder of Nomadicare) I was totally blown away with how much I was getting done in just one day!

I was able to stay focused and crush through my work.

A tip that I will end with is this:

This is a full-blown commitment to yourself, friends and family and even strangers may come up and try to talk to you. Be polite and let them know that you can talk to them later (after your 25-minutes).

Stay true to who you are and focus. The rewards of maintaining 100% presence in your task will separate you from the world.

Thank you so much for reading all the way through!

If you are still here well then Great! You are double F**king awesome now!

"The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. These intervals are known as "pomodori", the plural of the Italian word pomodoro for "tomato"."
